Date:4/11/2011

LAKE FOREST, Ill., April 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PharMEDium Healthcare Corporation has become an Industry Supporter of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), as a part of a new Corporate Supporter program available to pharmaceutical, medical device and practice management companies.

David N. Jonas, PharMEDium Chairman and CEO commented, "We are committed to supporting ASA's efforts to advance the anesthesiology field through leadership, education and research.  As a leading provider of anesthesia services, we are excited to actively engage with the anesthesia community and are eager to contribute and support ASA's patient safety initiatives."

PharMEDium's focus on patient safety, efficiency and quality will add value to their involvement with the ASA.  With a long-standing dedication to continuous improvement, PharMEDium has demonstrated reliable anesthesia services utilizing color-differentiated labeling. ASA-endorsed ASTM standards; tamper-evident packaging; and proven processes are incorporated in the labeling to ensure the correct label is on the right drug in the right concentration each time.

"We are pleased to have PharMEDium join ASA as a valued corporate supporter," said ASA Executive Vice President John A. Thorner, J.D., CAE. "PharMEDium will support ASA's mission and help us remain committed to advancing the field to further improve patient safety."

The new ASA Corporate Supporter Program is an extension of the Society's work to serve ASA members, advance the mission of the ASA and appropriately engage ASA Corporate Supporters.  PharMEDium's involvement provides unrestricted support for the vital functions of ASA – which include member resources, professional development programming and specialty advancement.
