Pfizer Offers First 500,000 Consumers Free Advil® to Launch Medicine Cabinet Cleanout Campaign

MADISON, N.J., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, maker of Advil® pain-relief products, announced today the launch of a consumer campaign encouraging Americans to clean out their medicine cabinets and properly dispose of unwanted, expired and recalled products.  A recent poll shows that nearly half of Americans do not always look at the expiration date on over-the-counter medications before taking them.(1)

To help consumers replenish their medicine cabinets with a trusted and effective over-the-counter pain reliever, Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) is providing a coupon for a free bottle of Advil® to the first 500,000 eligible people who register. Consumers can register for a coupon for a free bottle by visiting www.MedicineCabinetSafety.com.  Pfizer is also partnering with Suzy Cohen, RPh, author of "The 24-Hour Pharmacist" to offer essential tips on medicine cabinet safety.
