PatientPay from Zepherella Now Offers Real-time Pricing, Automatic Payment Reconciliation for Healthcare Providers and Patients
Date:7/5/2012

DURHAM, N.C., July 5, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The hassles, bottlenecks and errors that come with estimating upfront pricing for patients, securing pre-authorized payments and reconciling it all once a claim has been settled is now dramatically reduced, if not eliminated, by the newest enhancement to the PatientPay(SM),  online service from Zepherella™, a provider of paperless billing and electronic payment processing for the healthcare industry.

Employing Zepherella-developed patented technology (U.S. Patent No. 8,214,233), this latest PatientPay feature (https://www.patientpay.net/demo/welcome) further boosts administrative efficiencies for physicians' groups using the service.  It provides quick, ease and reliable pricing, collects payments and then reconciles the payments on all adjudicated claims.

"This new feature is more than a reflection of Zepherella's mission to make PatientPay the most innovative, most attractive patient payment solution for all ambulatory practice management and revenue cycle management vendors," said Tom Furr, Zepherella's CEO.  "It recognizes the market's direction toward high-deductible insurance policies and need for healthcare providers to automate a paper-intensive, time-consuming process."

A recent survey by consulting firm Towers Watson and the National Business Group on Health, a nonprofit alliance of large companies, found that 70 percent of large companies plan to offer high-deductible insurance by 2013 along with accounts that allow patients to buy medical services with pretax dollars, often funded by their employers.  Of the responding firms, 20 percent noted high-deductible coverage will be the only option next year.

Such a shift requires an automated solution for physician groups to reduce the cost for processing out-of-pocket payments.  PatientPay fulfills that requirement with an automated process that reduces the cost to handle a traditional paper invoice is reduced by up to 50% for a $100 payment.
