OptiNose mottar stipend for nese-til-hjerne-forskning innen spektrumet for autismesykdommer

YARDLEY, Pennsylvania, 8. november 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- OptiNose US Inc. annonserte i dag at dets norske datterselskap ble tildelt 12,3 millioner NOK (2,1 million USD) av Det norske forskningsrådet for å studere på dens unike nasale leveringsteknologi av medisin i behandling av autismesykdommer (ASD-er). OptiNose-prosjektet var et av 59 selskapsprosjekter valgt blant nesten 200 innsendte søknader til Forskningsrådets program for brukerdrevet, forskningsbasert innovasjonsforskning. OptiNose vil bruke dette forskningsstipendet for å forske på «nese-til-hjerne»-transport av oksytocin via den patenterte OptiNose Bi-Directional™-leveringsteknologien for behandling av ASD-er. Partnere som har sagt seg enig i å samarbeide med OptiNose i prosjektet inkluderer avdelingen for psykiatri ve Oslo Universitetssykehus, SINTEF og Smerud Medical Research og norske akademiske institusjoner. Det forventes at avdelingen for psykiatri ved University of Minnesota også vil delta i dette programmet.
