Online Career Service Holds Third Virtual Job Summit
Date:9/4/2012

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Sept. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Bio Careers® (www.BioCareers.com) is holding its third Virtual Job Summit dedicated to life scientists with advanced degrees.  The employers' virtual booths opened for jobseekers review on August 1st, while live days for video chat with recruiters will be October 3rd and 4th.

The Virtual Job Summit is the first online career fair exclusively for life scientists.  Previous editions have been a tremendous success with over 500 scientists in attendance.

Several employers have already subscribed for the Fall 2012 event, including top U.S. and international employers like Covance, National Academies, Kelly Scientific, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Propel Careers, Stanford, Columbia, University of Texas, Stony Brook, City of Hope and others.

The advantages of candidates' participating in an online job fair include:

  • Saving time and travel expenses.
  • Free to all the Bio Careers members. (Register at www.biocareers.com)
  • Online presentations by experts who have transitioned from Academia into other career paths.
  • Video chat with top employers one on one, instead of queuing for long hours at offline events. Participants place their names on employer signup sheets and recruiters invite them to video chat.
  • Download brochures and videos to learn more about employers.

"Jobseekers can submit their résumé and sign up for a video chat with hiring managers when the event goes live on October 3rd and 4th. After employers have reviewed the résumés and information of jobseekers who visited their booths, they schedule longer video interviews with candidates later in October," said Nick Folger, Bio
