NxStage Founder and CEO Jeffrey Burbank Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2011 New England Award Winner

LAWRENCE, Mass., June 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- NxStage Medical, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXTM), a leading manufacturer of innovative dialysis products, today announced that Jeffrey H. Burbank, CEO, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2011 New England Award in the Medical Devices category. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Mr. Burbank was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a gala event at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel on June 15, 2011.

From the Company's inception, Mr. Burbank has led NxStage in pioneering a new paradigm for dialysis patients with the NxStage System One, the only portable home hemodialysis machine cleared for home use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).   "New England is a national hub of medical device innovation, so I'm truly humbled to be the recipient of this award," said Mr. Burbank.
