NucleusHealth™ Appoints Claude E. Hooton Chief Executive Officer and President and Announces Executive Leadership Amid Restructuring

NucleusHealth, LLC, a provider of market leading teleradiology services, announced today the appointment of Claude E. Hooton as President and Chief Executive Officer effective immediately. Dr. Vishal Verma, the previous CEO, will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the company’s Board of Managers.

Mr. Hooton, a seasoned business executive, joined the company in February 2014 as President and Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure, the company has more than tripled its revenues and now covers over 450 sites with its award-winning StatRad® teleradiology service. Under his leadership, the company built and launched the technology platform that was recently sold to Change Healthcare. Prior to its divestiture, the software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution grew from being a concept to having over 7,500 organizations using it.

Prior to NucleusHealth, Hooton served as an executive leader with a number of healthcare focused technology and service companies including Baxa, Cardinal Health/Pyxis, Eli Lilly and NCR.

Mr. Hooton received his undergraduate degree from San Diego State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

"Claude has brought patient-focused, strategic, operational and industry specific experience to our StatRad teleradiology service with a proven track record of growth – all qualities that were critical in our consideration for our next CEO," said Dr. Vishal Verma, Executive Chairman of the NucleusHealth board. "NucleusHealth has significant opportunities to grow, as we execute against our plans to enhance our service levels in the teleradiology sectors. We see a clear path to create greater value for our clients, patients, and shareholders. After working together since early 2014, I believe that Claude is ideally suited to lead our team and accelerate these opportunities."

Mr. Hooton stated, "NucleusHealth’s StatRad service has over a 20-year track record of providing high quality diagnostic services and we plan to continue to stick to our core values as we grow the company. We have one of the best teams that I have ever worked with. In my new role, I have the pleasure to also announce the promotion of Rand Smith to the role of Chief Financial Officer and Heather Novello to the role of Vice President of Client Operations. We have the right technology, radiologists, and support teams to provide teleradiology services that are second to none.”
