"Adoption of electronic health records is a critical step in the transformation process for New York's healthcare ecosystem. Setting providers on the path to meaningful use of electronic health records and accelerating IT adoption requires high quality, highly functional systems that offer integrated practice and clinical management functions, interoperability, standard data exchange, and the opportunity to achieve meaningful use," said Paul Wilder, director of Healthcare IT Adoption for the New York eHealth Collaborative. "Greenway's PrimeSuite exceeded our qualification standards for preferred REC status and we look forward to a productive partnership between Greenway, NYeC and the providers of New York."

Combined, the $48.2 million for the two New York grants is the nation's largest, and target more than 10,000 practitioners overall. Established in 2006 and supported by the New York State Department of Health, NYeC conducted a series of EHR Meaningful Use Summits in conjunction with NYC REACH as part of their EHR adoption programs. Greenway was a sponsor of the events, which drew statewide attendance of more than 1,000 participants.
