New Image Global, Inc. and Limbs For U™, Unite to Distribute Artificial Limbs in the Dominican Republic
Date:3/15/2011

CORONA, Calif.,, March 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- New Image Global, Inc., headquartered at 1672 Railroad Street in Corona, California, recently joined forces with the disability advocacy group, Limbs For U™, of Lynwood, Washington, to distribute donated artificial limbs to candidates disabled by amputation in the Dominican Republic. (The company maintains a manufacturing facility in Santiago, Dominican Republic.) Under the sponsorship of the two socially conscious organizations, two shipping containers of prosthetic limbs have been delivered to the Dominican Republic, which shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti. During a 3-day visit in February, the sponsors and their guests were given the opportunity to meet with some of the grateful recipients of the donated limbs. A significant part of the project involves the selection of candidates for the limbs and personalized fitting by local medical professionals, at no charge to the recipients.
