September 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Eine neue unabhängig referierte Studie, bei der die Stretta-Therapie untersucht wird, rückt dieses nichtoperative Verfahren erneut in das Rampenlicht, bei dem Patientendaten für 10 Jahre vorliegen und das gerade mit der höchsten GRADE-Empfehlung der US-amerikanischen Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) ausgezeichnet wurde.

Die in Gastroenterology Research and Practice veröffentlichte Studie mit dem Titel „Stretta Radiofrequency Treatment for GERD: A Safe and Effective Modality" liefert Fakten, die mit einigen Missverständnissen über Stretta aufräumen. Die Studie kommt zu dem Schluss, dass Stretta eine sichere und wirksame Alternative bei Patienten ist, die für eine Behandlung mit Protonenpumpenhemmern ungeeignet sind oder die eine weniger invasive Therapieoption bevorzugen.
