National Data Center Hosting Provider, CoreLink Data Centers, to Present at HIMSS 2012

PROSPECT, Ill., Feb. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- National data center hosting provider, CoreLink Data Centers, LLC  (www.corelink.com/data-center-services.htm), and healthcare technology consulting firm, Burwood Group Inc., on Feb. 22nd will host an 11:30 a.m. presentation at the 2012 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas on Patient Critical Architecture and the importance of disaster recovery planning in protecting critical patient data toward meeting HIPAA security compliance requirements.

The 30-minute session, "Patient Critical Architecture: HIPAA Security Compliance and Disaster Recovery Planning," will take place at Burwood Group's Booth (#8310) at Las Vegas' Venetian Sands Expo Center. Nav Ranajee, CoreLink's Director of Healthcare, will discuss the rising tide of healthcare technology adoption such as Electronic Health Records and its impact on disaster recovery planning.

The pending HITECH final rules will enforce the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), through higher penalites, audits and extension of obligations to business associates.  Under these more stringent rules and rise in Electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI), a comprehensive disaster recovery plan becomes a more critical aspect of a healthcare providers overall technology planning efforts.
