National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP) Appoints Thomas Blissenbach, RPh, MS as a Member of The Board of Directors

TAMPA, Fla, April 26, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The National Association of Specialty Pharmacy™ (NASP™) announced today that Thomas Blissenbach , RPh, MS has joined the NASP Board of Directors.

"I am honored to join my prestigious colleagues on the Board and hope to contribute my experience to advance NASP's mission of building collaboration within the industry to improve patient outcomes," Blissenbach said.

Blissenbach, who has more than 40 years of experience in both hospital and alternate site pharmacy, is currently the Director of Business Development for Fairview Pharmacy Services, LLC.  He has developed and led numerous ambulatory pharmacy business units at Fairview since joining the organization in 2000.

Blissenbach was a pioneer in the growth of home infusion and the evolution of specialty pharmacy.  Prior to joining Fairview, he held positions involving multiple-site pharmacy management, sales and marketing, business development and consulting at HMSS, Caremark and Chronimed. Throughout his career he has consistently been a leader and innovator in the practice and business of pharmacy.

NASP, founded in 2012, represents specialty pharmacy professionals in all practice settings and highlights the unique value its members bring to patients and the healthcare system by focusing on building collaboration among all industry associations to improve patient outcomes.  Specialty pharmacy is the fastest growing segment in the industry today and NASP provides valuable benefits to members by creating a strong, unified voice for all stakeholders.
