PITTSBURGH, April 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mylan Inc. (Nasdaq: MYL) today announced that it has contributed $1 million to The Pittsburgh Promise Scholarship Fund, a scholarship program for Pittsburgh Public School students that advocates for improving the quality of education and increasing the preparedness and diversity of the region's workforce. "With this donation to The Pittsburgh Promise, we are proud to invest in the future of the region's children through enhanced educational opportunities and believe this contribution will only further build on the strength of our community and its people in the future."

Mylan CEO Heather Bresch commented, "Our pledge supports the hope that students in our own backyard receive an education after high school and helps break down the financial barriers that could keep them from making their dreams come true. We are pleased to support one of the country's leading scholarship programs that advances public education reform, while preparing our young people for jobs in science and business."
