Molecular You Named a 2019 Gartner ‘Cool Vendor’ in Healthcare Artificial Intelligence

Molecular You, a personalized digital health company, announced today that it has been selected by Gartner as a 2019 ‘Cool Vendor’ in Healthcare Artificial Intelligence (AI). The report, including 5 Healthcare AI vendors, was published May 7, 2019 by Gartner analysts Laura Craft, Barry Runyon, Gregg Pessin. Subscribers can access the report here.

The Gartner report notes: “AI is a top game-changing technology across healthcare. CIOs should watch these emerging vendors that use innovative approaches to AI in for beneficial and impactful results. The era of precision health is here. Individual health assessment tools that use a combination of factors to predict likely risk of disease are viable.” It goes on to say: “The vendors we profile in this report reflect important advancements in realizing the ambitions of precision health. Gartner defines ‘precision health’ as ‘an emerging healthcare approach focused on proactively diagnosing and lowering the risk of a future illness based on knowledge of genetics, lifestyle, real-world environments, behaviors, biometrics, genomes, exomes and other sources. The early diagnosis of an illness enables treatment using wellness, prevention, behavior change and minimally invasive treatment interventions.’” Gartner considers ‘Cool Vendors’ to be “interesting, new and innovative.”

Molecular You harnesses AI in the analysis of an extensive range of blood biomarkers to provide early warning of potential health risks. The MY Health Intelligence™ platform analyzes protein, metabolite, genetic, (including pharmacogenetic), nutrient and toxin blood markers and uses data mining techniques to compare an individual’s data with the world’s latest scientific and clinical research. The resulting health assessment combined with a personalized nutrition and exercise plan is delivered through a rich, visual dashboard enabling further exploration, insight and learning. Individuals can follow their action plans using the companion MY Health Tracker App™, which enables easy progress tracking.

“We feel that Gartner is one of the most trusted thought leaders in market research and analysis, and it is an absolute honour to be named a Gartner Cool Vendor,” said Pieter Cullis, co-founder and Chairman of Molecular You. “We see Gartner’s selection of Molecular You in the Cool Vendor report as recognition of our leadership in personalized preventive health, enabling individuals to take control of their health and proactively address any health risks. We also believe it reinforces the value of our technology, using AI to drive the analysis, interpretation and personalization of complex blood marker data to deliver truly personalized health action plans.”

Partnering Strategy
“We began working closely with practitioners and individuals, to understand health needs, get rapid feedback and hone our solution,” explained Robert Fraser, CEO, Molecular You. “Now, we are scaling up, actively partnering with companies delivering preventive healthcare and those involved in the coordination of care. We are currently partnering with corporate health programs, personalized nutrition and fitness companies across North America. Our technologies and services are designed to engage, operate in the workplace and give our clients control over their data. We are also working with research organizations to actively grow the body of knowledge of the value of biomarker-based action plans in preventive healthcare.”

Molecular You is well-positioned to tackle some of the greatest challenges to our health care systems. 80% of health care dollars are going to the treatment of chronic illnesses. Most chronic illness is preventable but knowing what an individual should do, and if it is working for the individual, has not been possible until now. For example, the MY Health Intelligence platform is ideally suited for the early detection of risks associated with the development of the type 2 diabetes. Molecular You action plans tailored to the individual help navigate to a healthier, longer life. “The biggest reward in taking action on your health is seeing your data in a healthy range,” commented Rob Fraser. “I know - I went through the program myself.”
