Millennium Laboratories' Angela Huskey Named Industry Pain Educator of the Year by American Society of Pain Educators

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Angela Huskey, Pharm.D., CPE, Associate VP of Clinical Affairs at Millennium Laboratories and Research Scientist with the Millennium Research Institute, was recognized today by the American Society of Pain Educators (ASPE) as Industry Pain Educator of the Year. Huskey received her award at a ceremony during the Keynote presentation at the PAINWeek® 2012 National Conference in Las Vegas.

The Pain Educator of the Year Award recognizes an educator of excellence in the field of pain management. The ASPE also recognizes annually an outstanding individual in the areas of clinical education and academic education. Past recipients of this award include Charles Argoff, Howard Heit and Marsha Stanton.
At Millennium, Huskey leads clinical affairs, the development of the company's national clinical education strategy, and collaborates on research projects and publications. A Certified Pain Educator (CPE), Huskey is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and co-coordinator of the Pain Management and Palliative Care elective. She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with highest honors from the University of Florida and subsequently completed a specialty residency in Pain Management & Palliative Care at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa, Florida. She has mentored pharmacy and medical students in pain management and has published numerous journal articles and book chapters. She is also frequently invited nationally to present on topics such as opioid pharmacology, adjuvant analgesia, urine drug monitoring, pharmacogenetics, and pain-related clinical trials.
