Microfabrica To Introduce Educational Series For Design Engineers Challenged With Ongoing Drive To Miniaturization

VAN NUYS, Calif., Aug. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Microfabrica is launching a series of web-based educational symposia created to help design engineers overcome current manufacturing challenges in the ongoing drive to miniaturization across many high tech industries.  The first webinar, "When State-Of-The-Art Micromachining Isn't Good Enough" will take place on August 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM EDT.  This symposium will review current state-of-the-art technologies and explore how MICA Freeform extends the capabilities of conventional micromachining for fabricating high precision metal parts at the sub-millimeter scale.  MICA Freeform, Microfabrica's proprietary additive manufacturing process, enables engineers to design parts with complex geometries at a scale not previously possible.

These discussions will be lead by Richard Chen, Vice President of Design Engineering at Microfabrica.  In this webinar, Mr. Chen will discuss:

  • Current obstacles design engineers face in the drive to miniaturization
  • How MICA Freeform allows fabrication of complex features at a sub-millimeter scale while retaining high precision
  • Ideal design applications for the MICA Freeform process

The webinar takes place on August 22, 2012 at 02:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time.  Please register on our website,

Replays will be available after August 23, 2012
