Das MiStent Sirolimus Eluting Absorbable Polymer Coronary Stent System (MiStent SES®) wurde zur Optimierung des Heilungsverlaufs von Patienten mit koronarer Herzkrankheit konzipiert. Die schnell absorbierbare Beschichtung des MiStent SES soll die Wirkstofffreisetzung präzise und beständig steuern und die Dauer der Polymerexposition beschränken, um so die Sicherheitsrisiken in Verbindung mit derzeit erhältlichen Medikamente freisetzenden Stent-Technologien zu reduzieren.

Das innovative MiStent SES-System umfasst eine firmeneigene Stent-Beschichtung mit einem kristallinen Wirkstoff (Sirolimus) und einem absorbierbaren Polymer. Mit der Aufweichung des Polymers und seiner Absonderung aus dem Stent in angrenzendes Gewebe ermöglicht die Beschichtung eine kontrollierte und nachhaltige Freisetzung therapeutischer Wirkstoffmengen. Mit diesen Eigenschaften soll die Sicherheit im Vergleich zu konventionellen permanenten Polymer-DES gezielt erhöht werden.

Unter Verwendung eines zugelassenen Medikaments (Sirolimus) und Polymers (PLGA) macht es die patentierte superkritische Fluidtechnologie von Micell möglich, reine Metall-Stents mit streng kontrollierten Wirkstoff- und Polymerbeschichtungen zu überziehen. Das MiStent SES macht sich die Vorteile des hochmodernen Genius® MAGIC Cobalt Chromium Coronary Stent System von Eurocor (mit CE-Zulassung) zunutze, bei dem es sich um einen reinen Metall-Stent mit nachweislich hervorragender Einsetzbarkeit, Konformität und Flexibilität handelt.
