The speakers from Abbott Vascular, Underwriters Laboratories, Boston Scientific, Texas A&M Institute for Preclinical Studies, Quintiles, Covidien, Smiths Medical and Orchid Design will address the current critical issues surrounding the medical device industry and focuses solely on the design and development of a medical device through a carefully structured series of interactive case studies, technology sessions, panel debates and keynote presentations.

Attendees can take advantage of daily supplier technology presentations at the Innovation Briefs Theater taking place within the expo hall alongside the exhibits. These 30-minute presentations run from 11:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. daily and cover a wide range of technologies. Among topics being presented this year are: Robotics, hyrdrogels, android tablets and phones within the medtech industry, and 2D barcoding.

One of this year's Innovations Briefs highlights is Thursday's "Understanding Quality Gaps to Target Medical Device Innovation" (April 26, 2012 at 12:30pm). Given by Conference Keynote Speaker Nora Illuri, CEO of Clarimed, this presentation discusses how to use data about medical device performance to identify market gaps and find opportunities for innovation. She will also introduce Clarimed's brand new web tool "DeviceMatters," the industry's only site that provides ground-breaking, detailed reports of industry-related adverse events.
