HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Jan. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Medbox, Inc. (Pinksheets: MDBX) (www.medboxinc.com) was featured on KTLA News in a segment discussing the future of prescription medicine dispensing.
A demonstration model of the Medbox™ Rx Prescription Dispensing System was on display, as a company spokesperson described how the process works.
The story stated that when a customer drops off their prescription at the pharmacy, the pharmacist will ask if they want to pick up their medicine at the counter or at the automated, self-serve system. If the customer opts to pick up their prescription at their convenience from the Medbox™ Rx system, the pharmacist will place the medicine in one of 200 individual lock boxes. The customer will access the lock box by swiping their special identification card and passing a fingerprint recognition scan.
Medbox™ Rx is the world's first medical dispensing system to feature a patented biometric fingerprint recognition program, which assures patient identity and provides military grade security. The system also takes a photograph of each person conducting a transaction, and provides an unalterable record of every operation.
The story also discussed how the system is a pharmacist's best friend because it increases their capacity, reduces their workload, and allows for greater customer convenience. Because of these and other features and benefits, the Medbox™ Rx is commonly referred to as "The Pharmacist's Assistant."
