MedVet Expands Specialty and Emergency Services to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

MedVet is pleased to announce its expansion into Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with the addition of University Veterinary Specialists (UVS), now known as MedVet Pittsburgh. The City Vets and VetNow divisions of UVS will not be part of MedVet Pittsburgh. MedVet looks forward to providing local veterinarians continued support and access to specialty and emergency veterinary care throughout the greater Pittsburgh community.

“We are very excited to be expanding in the Pittsburgh community,” said MedVet President and CEO, Dr. Eric Schertel. “Area veterinarians and pet owners have trusted UVS to provide emergency and specialty care for their pets and now, with MedVet, we enhance our ability to collaborate with Referral Partners to deliver exceptional service and care while maintaining our commitment to leading specialty healthcare for pets.” MedVet has a 30-year commitment to specialty and emergency healthcare as a veterinarian led and owned organization.

Dr. Linda Lehmkuhl, MedVet’s Chief Medical Officer said, “MedVet Pittsburgh will continue to provide existing services of Dentistry, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Rehabilitation, and Surgery. We will work to recruit additional specialists to improve our breadth and depth of specialty care availability. In addition, we look forward to providing Radiology services through VetRad. Our goal in this partnership is to fuse the strength and experience of University Veterinary Specialists with MedVet’s well-known emergency and specialty healthcare experience to provide the highest-quality care to local veterinary practices, pets, and their families.”
