MedVantx Pharmacy Services Receives Coveted VIPPS Accreditation (Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites)
Date:7/27/2012

SAN DIEGO, July 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MedVantx, Inc., the company that created the first ever controlled access to generic samples in US physician offices with its innovative medication management platform, today announced the VIPPS® accreditation of their dispensing center and pharmacy located in Sioux Falls, SD, which provides cost-effective home delivery to consumers nationwide.  MedVantx is one of only 32 pharmacies recognized with the VIPPS seal of approval.

"This milestone reflects our commitment to quality, accountability, health and safety," stated Lora Van Dyke, Chief Pharmacist and Clinical Director of MedVantx Pharmacy Services," and we are proud to be worthy of the VIPPS Seal."  The VIPPS accreditation program is a strong indicator of an Internet pharmacy's compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, and NABP's (National Association of Boards of Pharmacy) criteria.  The VIPPS Seal is a symbol to consumers they are interacting with a reputable pharmacy, and they will get the quality care they deserve.

In addition to its VIPPS accreditation program, NABP regularly reviews Web sites that sell prescription drugs. Since 2008, the association has reviewed over 10,000 sites finding only 3% of those sites to be potentially legitimate based on review of the Web site alone.  MedVantx Pharmacy Services is one of only 32 pharmacies accredited and able to carry the VIPPS seal of approval.  To ensure protection of public health, VIPPS accreditation requires a pharmacy to comply with the licensing and survey requirements of its home state and with those of each state to which it dispenses pharmaceuticals.  MedVantx Pharmacy Services is licensed to dispense to all 50 states. VIPPS-accredited pharmacies meet nationally endorsed standards of pharmacy practice, and they demonstrate compliance with standards of privacy and authentication and security of prescriptions, adhere to quality
