MedQuist Features SpeechQ VTB for Radiology Solution at RSNA Convention
Date:11/30/2009

MT. LAUREL, N.J., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MedQuist Inc. (Nasdaq: MEDQ), a leading provider of technology-enabled clinical documentation services, is featuring a new solution this week at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference in Chicago. Called SpeechQ VTB for Radiology, the product leverages SpeechQ(TM), the company's real-time interactive speech recognition application used by thousands of radiologists. MedQuist has integrated SpeechQ with a robust web-based coding and billing platform to make completed radiology reports immediately available for processing, shortening the entire billing cycle.

This highly automated workflow permits rapid conversion of dictation to text with immediate radiologist electronic signature, seamless passing of the report to the coding platform, and use of computer-assisted coding software that identifies relevant information in the text and recommends code assignments for human review. The result is a number of key benefits, including:

  • Significant cost savings in transcription
  • Streamlined process from voice to billing improves overall revenue cycle
  • Elimination of data entry expense
  • Reduced claims denials and compliance risk

MedQuist maintains a global team of over 300 specialists in all areas of revenue cycle management, including many certified CPC and RCC coders. MedQuist has extensive experience in medical billing and practice management services both in radiology and in a broad range of other medical specialties.

"This is another strong enhancement to our popular SpeechQ for Radiology system," said Chris Spring, Vice President of Product Management at MedQuist. "Our goal is to take steps out of manual processes in radiology workflow, and SpeechQ VTB offers major savings as we accelerate the voice-to-billing process."
