McAllister Software Systems, Inc. and IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. Announce Availability of the IDEXX VetLab(R) Station InterLink(TM) Connection to AVImark(R) 2010
Date:2/12/2010

PIEDMONT, Mo., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- McAllister Software Systems, Inc. today announced full integration between AVImark veterinary software and the IDEXX VetLab® Station. Powered by IDEXX InterLink™ technology, the two-way connection allows diagnostic test requisitions and patient data to be sent automatically to the IDEXX VetLab Station from any AVImark workstation in a veterinary practice. Test results are automatically sent back to the patient's medical record in AVImark and test charges are automatically added to the patient's invoice. Once completed, test results are immediately visible on the AVImark client information display (CID). Test results can also be sent automatically to a separate storage location, if preferred by the veterinarian.

"IDEXX InterLink technology automatically communicates information back and forth between AVImark veterinary software and the IDEXX VetLab Station," said Donnie Meyer, senior director of business development for McAllister Software Systems.  "This is the kind of productivity and patient care that results from our focus on the success of our customers and the long-standing relationship between McAllister Software Systems and IDEXX."

"The IDEXX InterLink connection between AVImark and the IDEXX VetLab Station enables advanced practice integration and significant customer benefits," added Kevin Roughton, VetLab marketing manager. "Staff can order in-clinic laboratory diagnostics from anywhere in the practice, secure in the knowledge that when the patient invoice is posted, all test charges have been automatically captured. Most important, complete test results are immediately accessible from any AVImark workstation in the practice for faster, more-informed diagnoses."

To take advantage of enhanced connectivity with the IDEXX VetLab Station, veterinarians must have AVImark version 2010 as well as IDEXX VetLab Station software version 3.02 or greater.  The latest AVImark software release is available via automatic update download on www.avimark.net or by calling 877-838-9273, option 1.  Veterinary practices interested in more information about AVImark can download a free demonstration at www.avimark.net/gtka/download-a-free-demo.

About IDEXX VetLab® In-house Analyzers

IDEXX VetLab veterinary analyzers provide fast and flexible real-time results on patients' blood and urine during the pet's visit, allowing face-to-face discussions between veterinarians and clients that can increase understanding and compliance. The analyzers' diagnostic capabilities include clinical chemistry, electrolytes, hematology with five-part differential and reticulocytes, endocrinology, blood gases, coagulation, urinalysis and infectious diseases. The IDEXX VetLab® Station serves as the in-house laboratory's information management system, integrating results from all the analyzers -- including the Catalyst Dx® Chemistry Analyzer and SNAPshot Dx® Analyzer -- and SNAP® point-of-care tests into a single comprehensive and easy-to-use patient report. The report is an excellent client-communication tool and tangible evidence of the value veterinary professionals provide to their patients. The information is stored in the IDEXX VetLab Station's database for easy future reference and historical results-trending capability. IDEXX SmartService® Solutions utilizes the Internet to deliver proactive service and support for many IDEXX VetLab instruments.
