Luminex Corporation Named Most Innovative Company of the Year and Receives Business Innovation of the Year Award for MAGPIX® System

tting a new industry standard for multiplex testing.  Because of its innovative design weighing less than 40 pounds, or 18 kg, the system is easy to install and deploy around the world.  Its unique portability and decreased resource and sample requirements provide the power of multiplexing in an affordable format not only to traditional laboratories, but to scientific teams in remote and resource limited areas.  To date the MAGPIX system has been used at the Papua New Guinea Institute of Medical Research, a global network of independent research centers in malaria endemic settings, and Port-au-Prince, Haiti's GHESKIO Center in managing the continuing cholera outbreak following last year's earthquake.  

The 2011 American Business Awards finalists and winners were honored at the Ninth Annual gala event last night in Times Square at New York's Marriot Marquis Hotel, hosted by Cheryl Casone of Fox Business Network.
