Lilly USA, LLC Wins Award in 2010 National Health Information Awards Program
Date:11/1/2010

INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Lilly USA, LLC was selected as a winner in the 17th annual National Health Information Awards(SM). This program recognizes the nation's best consumer health information programs and materials.

Lilly's Journey to Wellness Collection received a Silver Award for its total health information program.

"Lilly's patient education programs are one way we help connect patients with resources that will help them make healthier choices and overcome barriers to care," said Jack Harris, MD, vice president, Lilly. "We are honored to be selected as a winner of the National Health Information Awards program because it validates our commitment to producing high-quality patient education resources."

The Journey to Wellness Collection provides tools that help patients improve their health while living with diabetes. All materials were designed to maximize patients' understanding of the effects the disease can have on the body and to offer methods that promote behavioral changes that can lead to healthier living. The collection consists of three segments. One segment called "Help Your Heart" includes print brochures, office materials and customizable letters and articles for health care providers to use to educate patients about the effects diabetes can have on the heart. Other segments provide similar materials for eye health – "See Fit" – and foot health – "Step Ahead."

Lilly, a leading innovation-driven corporation, is developing a growing portfolio of pharmaceutical products by applying the latest research from its own worldwide laboratories and from collaborations with eminent scientific organizations. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., Lilly provides answers – through medicines and information – for some of the world's most urgent medical needs.
