LifeMed ID, Inc. to Provide PETLinQ LLC with Secure Patient Identity, Automated Registration, and Brand Patient Loyalty to its Customer Base
Date:8/2/2011

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif., Aug. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- LifeMed ID, a "Trusted Patient Identity" software company, is deploying its SecureReg™ software to PETLinQ's customer base nationwide. LifeMed's automated card registration solution authenticates and accurately identifies patients for each visit or procedure, automatically evokes the correct medical record using current registration software and workflow, verifies insurance, and provides photo ID on card and registration screen. LifeMed will be placing card readers at multiple locations throughout each provider facility for effortless check-in, eliminating the need for handwritten forms. LifeMed's deployments will also include encrypted Smart or Magnetic cards and onsite branded card issuance.

In addition to safety and security, SecureReg™ solution ensures that each patient is matched to only one record number per location per visit – greatly diminishing duplicate records, admission error, fraud, and decreasing accounts receivables (A/R) delays. Patients will feel a heightened sense of privacy and security not having to produce a driver's license, birthdate, or addressee information at each encounter with a facility representative. All of this will be achieved while also increasing overall patient satisfaction by streamlining the check-in and registration process within seconds.

LifeMed ID's SecureReg Integrated™ Smart card includes the added utility of patient demographics and vital health information such as medications, allergies, medical conditions, and alerts. In addition, this information will be retrievable and updateable by pre-authorized providers, clinicians, and first responders for life-saving information during an emergency, accident, or natural disaster.

LifeMed's case study demonstrated: Patient satisfaction rates top 5% of all hospitals, billing errors reduced by 88%, decreased outstanding A/R days by 27%, duplicate medical records reduced by 9
