#233;bat sur l'innovation sera l'occasion d'examiner la manière dont nous pouvons empêcher les pressions économiques et budgétaires que nous connaissons aujourd'hui de mettre en péril l'innovation pour les générations actuelles et futures.

L'objectif du débat sur l'innovation est d'aborder des questions cruciales, de tirer des conclusions positives et de faire avancer les choses.

Tout le monde, à savoir les professionnels des secteurs de la science et de la technologie, les étudiants et le grand public, aura la possibilité de prendre part au débat sur l'innovation par l'intermédiaire des médias en ligne. Ainsi, les discussions pourront avoir lieu bien au-delà des murs de la Royal Society.

« Le débat sur l'innovation est un événement ponctuel, » affirme le professeur Jim Al-Khalili. « Le monde de la science et de la technologie a besoin de se réapproprier le terme « innovation ». Comment pouvons-nous encourager l'innovation dans le contexte d'austérité que nous connaissons actuellement et comment pouvons-nous nous assurer que nous disposons des innovateurs de demain ? Nous devons nous interroger sur la manière dont nous pouvons maximiser nos chances de faire naître des idées novatrices chez nos scientifiques et technologues, ainsi que sur la manière dont nous devons former la prochaine génération de scientifiques et d'ingénieurs. »
