Langfristige Verlaufskontrolldaten zum WEB Aneurysma-Embolisations-System zeigen hohe Raten von stabiler Okklusion bei schwierig zu behandelnden Aneurysmen

ALISO VIEJO, Kalifornien, und BUENOS AIRES, Argentinien, 14. November 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sequent Medical, Inc. hat heute die Präsentation langfristiger Ergebnisse aus einer retrospektiven Studie zum WEB™ Aneurysma-Embolisations-System auf dem Kongress der World Federation of Interventional Neuroradiology (WFITN) bekanntgegeben.

Die Studie beobachtete mittel- und langfristige Aneurysma-Okklusionsraten bei 45 Patienten, die mithilfe von WEB in 12 europäischen Zentren behandelt worden sind. In dieser Patientengruppe mit komplexen Bifurkations-Aneurysmen mit weitem Hals konnte mittelfristig (Medianwert sechs Monate) eine adäquate Okklusion bei 81,1 % der Fälle und langfristig (Medianwert 13 Monate) bei 89,7 % der Fälle erreicht werden. Gute klinische Ergebnisse (mRS<2) wurden bei 93,3 % der Patienten in der letzten Verlaufskontrolle beobachtet. Die Behandlung erwies sich im Zeitablauf als ziemlich stabil, wobei bei 92,2 % der Fälle der Okklusionszustand stabil blieb oder sich zwischen der mittelfristigen und langfristen Verlaufskontrolle verbesserte.
