Behandlung von Brust- und Prostatakrebs
Als erste Radio-Onkologie in der Schweiz, haben die Spitäler Riviera und Chablais benutzerdefinierte Technologie-Einstellungen für Ihren Versa HD ausgewählt, die auf die Behandlung von Brust- und Prostatakrebs ausgerichtet sind. Beide Behandlungsmethoden werden von dem Clarity™-Visualisierungssystem für Weichgewebe von Elekta unterstützt, mit dem die erkrankte Stelle im Körper ohne invasive Implantate oder die zusätzliche ionisierende Strahlung, die einige bildgebende Systeme erfordern, präzise definiert und behandelt werden kann.

„Clarity kann nahtlos mit CT verwendet werden, um eine bessere Abgrenzung des Lumpektomie-Hohlraums bei Brustkrebspatientinnen zu erreichen. Während der Behandlung können wir genauer arbeiten, ohne zusätzliche bildgebende Verfahren beim Patienten anzuwenden", erklärt er. „Ebenso werden wir dieses System für die transperineale Bildgebung der Prostata anwenden, um die tägliche Behandlung an der Position der Prostata auszurichten und diese Position während der Behandlung zu überwachen. Mit Clarity kann das Ziel exakt lokalisiert werden, um die Behandlung klar einzugrenzen und damit die Toxizität für empfindliche, umliegende Strukturen wie den Mastdarm und die Blase einzuschränken."

Die neue Radio-Onkologie in Vevey wird als erstes Klinikum in der Schweiz und eines der ersten der Welt das Versa HD-System  verwenden.
