Iniziativa della Michael J. Fox Foundation in collaborazione con la Fondazione Grigioni: Parkinson, arriva anche in Italia il "Fox Trial Finder" per i pazienti accesso gratuito alle nuovi cure

Ad oggi, il FTF dispone di 380 studi clinici, di cui oltre 65 solo in Europa. Oltre all'Italia, la FTF si sta espandendo anche in altri quattro paesi tra cui Germania, Austria, Francia e Spagna, per la prevalenza di studi clinici sul Parkinson già in corso

 

La Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF), da sempre in prima linea nella ricerca e cura del Parkinson, lancia anche in Italia, dove la malattia colpisce circa 250 mila persone, il Fox Trial Finder (http://www.foxtrialfinder.org). Si tratta di una innovativa piattaforma on-line, la prima del suo genere, alla quale ogni paziente affetto da questa malattia (ma anche sano), può connettersi e accedervi in forma volontaria e anonima, con l'obiettivo di entrare a far parte di sperimentazioni cliniche. L'iniziativa, che vede la stretta collaborazione fra la Michael J. Fox Foundation e la Fondazione Grigioni per il Morbo di Parkinson di Milano, mira ad offrire, anche ai pazienti italiani e ai loro familiari, l'accesso a nuovi trattamenti terapeutici. L'obiettivo è abbattere il ritardo con cui all'incirca il 40-70% delle sperimentazioni iniziano in tutto il mondo a causa del numero insufficiente di pazienti. Grazie ad una attenta selezione che combina sia l'interesse dell'ammalato che la sua candidabilità a nuove cure, il Fox Trial Finder garantisce una migliore efficienza del processo di registrazione e di accesso a nuove terapie. Il progetto, lanciato nel 2012 negli Stati Uniti, nel Regno Unito, in Irlanda, in Australia e in Canada ha già registrato oltre 23.000 volontari, disposti ad entrare nel trial clinico e contribuire a definire e accelerare la scoperta di una cura per il
