Implantable Medical Device Group formed to Reduce Risk and Simplify Management of Active Implant Projects
Date:11/19/2013

SOLON, Ohio, Nov. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Realizing a market need for a streamlined supply chain, a highly skilled group of best-in-class manufacturing companies came together to form a strategic partnership; whose aim is to reduce risk and simplify management by providing a seamless transition through each step of the implantable medical device development and manufacturing process. The companies have been working together for years on various implantable projects and offer prospective customers a more defined manufacturing process.

The four founding members of the Group are:

Chameleon Design Solutions – Design and Product Development
Esterline Souriau PA&E – Hermetic feedthrus, connectors and packaging
Litron, Inc. – Supply Chain Management, Assembly and Hermetic Sealing
Valtronic – Micro-electronic Assembly

The group members have a track record of success with both start-up and well-established device manufacturers; designing and producing a variety of medical devices for both implantable and external applications such as Cardiac/Arrhythmia Monitoring, Neuromodulation, Cochlear Implants and Drug Delivery.

The goal of the Group is to help Implantable Device Companies mitigate risk, streamline the development of their projects, simplify production by taking the complexity out of managing the supply chain and reduce time-to-market by working efficiently together from the very beginning.

"In the last few years, as we've become more heavily involved in the supply chain management portion of implantable device builds, it has been increasingly more important to work with top-notch vendors," stated Mark Plasse, President of Litron, "The feedback we have received thus far has only reinforced the need for this Group."

Each company has assigned representatives to the group who meet and speak regularly about the needs of the market and the best ways to work together to serve it.
