Houston Bulk Materials Handling Society Sponsors Texas Powder & Bulk Solids Expo

SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The newly incorporated Houston Bulk Materials Handling Society will sponsor UBM Canon's inaugural Powder & Bulk Solids (PBS) Texas tradeshow that will be held at the Reliant Center in Houston, from October 15-16, 2013. This event covers a range of product and service offerings for the manufacturing of food, petro-chemicals, plastics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, fabricated metals, paint, cement/lime/asphalt and fertilizers.

Within the Houston region, there are 406 chemical and 300 food manufacturing plants. The area is also home to 30% of the state's pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. With a population of 5.6 million, the Houston area produces 30% of Texas' total output and is second only to New York as the largest export region.

According to Jerry Lemire, the President of the Houston Bulk Materials Handling Society, "UBM Canon's expertise in producing successful, large tradeshow events ideally complements the Society's members' experience in serving the rapidly growing Texas process manufacturing market. We are pleased to support the event."

PBS Texas is one of UBM Canon's six co-located Texas Advanced Manufacturing tradeshows to provide a comprehensive manufacturing event for visitors and exhibitors. These events include AeroCon (aviation/aerospace), TexasPack (packaging), PLASTEC Texas (plastics), ATX Texas (automation technology), Design & Manufacturing Texas, in addition to PBS Texas (powder & bulk solids). More than 400 exhibiting companies are expected to showcase innovative new product and service offerings—which includes revolutionary categories such as 3D printing.

The PBS Texas event is also supported by the Process Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA).
