SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The newly incorporated Houston Bulk Materials Handling Society will sponsor UBM Canon's inaugural Powder & Bulk Solids (PBS) Texas tradeshow that will be held at the Reliant Center in Houston, from October 15-16, 2013. This event covers a range of product and service offerings for the manufacturing of food, petro-chemicals, plastics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, fabricated metals, paint, cement/lime/asphalt and fertilizers.
Within the Houston region, there are 406 chemical and 300 food manufacturing plants. The area is also home to 30% of the state's pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. With a population of 5.6 million, the Houston area produces 30% of Texas' total output and is second only to New York as the largest export region.
