Zu den Maßnahmen gehören Investitionen in Rückzugs- und Ersatzprogramme, zukünftige Produktfreigaben und Qualitätssysteme:

  • Rückzugs- und Ersatzprogramme: Indem eine weniger robuste und/oder ältere Pumpentechnologie vom Markt genommen wird und Ersatzprogramme für Kunden eingeführt werden, werden die Schwerpunkte auf die aktuelle Arbeit des Unternehmens gelegt. Der Großteil der Aktivitäten wird sich in den nächsten zwei bis drei Jahren abspielen. Dazu gehört:
    • Der Rückzug des Symbiq™-Infusionsgeräts und der älteren Plum™-Pumpen. Diese Geräte werden durch Plum A+-Pumpen und zukünftige Innovationen auf der Plum-Plattform, die sich derzeit in einem fortgeschrittenen Stadium der Entwicklung befinden, ersetzt;
    • Der Rückzug der ambulanten GemStar™-Pumpen und Ersatz durch die Sapphire™-Pumpen auf den Märkten, auf denen diese erhältlich sind (in Kanada und Europa), und in den USA, sobald die Sapphire™-Pumpen dort zugelassen sind;(1) und
    • der Rückzug älterer PCA-Pumpen, die durch LifeCare PCA™- oder Sapphire-Pumpen ersetzt werden.

Hospira wird sich während der Rückzugs- und Ersatzphase auch weiterhin um die betroffenen Pumpen kümmern.

  • Zukünftige Technologie: Der Schwerpunkt wird auf Investitionen und Entwicklungen im Bereich moderner Pumpentechnik liegen. Gleichzeitig soll die Position des Unternehmens als führender Anbieter von klinischer i.v.-Integrationstechnologie aufrecht erhalten werden, bei der Infusionssysteme in elektronische Patientenakten (EHR) integriert werden.
