LAKE FOREST, Ill., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hospira, Inc. (NYSE: HSP), a global specialty pharmaceutical and medication delivery company, announced today that Daphne E. Jones has been named senior vice president and chief information officer, effective Nov. 9. In this capacity, she will have overall responsibility for Hospira's information technology (IT) and systems and serve as a member of Hospira's senior leadership team. Jones will establish and execute global IT strategies, drive the transition to a global SAP environment across the company and consolidate disparate technology platforms onto common infrastructure. She will report directly to Chris Begley, chairman and chief executive officer.

Most recently, Jones, 52, served as the worldwide vice president of information technology and chief information officer for Johnson & Johnson's Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Inc., where she steered implementation of regional SAP solutions in Japan, Europe, Middle East, Africa and the United States. In this position, Jones also developed and executed global IT strategies across multiple business units, and drove Johnson & Johnson's recent sector-wide IT transformation.
