Hospira Names Daphne E. Jones Chief Information Officer

LAKE FOREST, Ill., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hospira, Inc. (NYSE: HSP), a global specialty pharmaceutical and medication delivery company, announced today that Daphne E. Jones has been named senior vice president and chief information officer, effective Nov. 9. In this capacity, she will have overall responsibility for Hospira's information technology (IT) and systems and serve as a member of Hospira's senior leadership team. Jones will establish and execute global IT strategies, drive the transition to a global SAP environment across the company and consolidate disparate technology platforms onto common infrastructure. She will report directly to Chris Begley, chairman and chief executive officer.

"Daphne is a proven leader whose deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, strong technical expertise and passion for connecting our company through IT solutions will help drive the global transition to SAP as well as improve our technology capability and support throughout Hospira," said Begley. Most recently, Jones, 52, served as the worldwide vice president of information technology and chief information officer for Johnson & Johnson's Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Inc., where she steered implementation of regional SAP solutions in Japan, Europe, Middle East, Africa and the United States. In this position, Jones also developed and executed global IT strategies across multiple business units, and drove Johnson & Johnson's recent sector-wide IT transformation.
