Home Care of the Carolinas and Alliance Medical, Inc. Select Authentidate's Inscrybe Healthcare to Improve Care Order Processing

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, N.J., Dec. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Authentidate Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: ADAT), a worldwide provider of secure Health Information Exchange and workflow management services, today announced that Home Care of the Carolinas ("HCC"), a home health agency, and Alliance Medical, Inc. ("AMI"), a durable medical equipment supplier, have selected Authentidate's Inscrybe® Healthcare web-based service to streamline and standardize processes for the completion of patient care orders. Both organizations are part of the Stanly Regional Medical Center family of healthcare organizations, which serve the Stanly, Montgomery, and surrounding counties of North Carolina.

"Our goal is to reduce the amount of time and effort it takes to complete patient care orders by our staff and referring physicians. We selected Inscrybe Healthcare because of its proven ability to automate procedures that have historically been complex, repetitive manual administrative tasks," said Brooke Ritchie, Director of Marketing for HCC and AMI. "We anticipate that the streamlined workflows that are being implemented through Inscrybe Healthcare will improve the efficiency of our clinical and administrative processes, and reduce costs while reinforcing best practices."

The Inscrybe Healthcare automated workflow solution improves efficiency and reduces human error when processing authorization forms with referring physicians and payors for patient care orders, including therapy, home care services, medical equipment and supplies. Inscrybe Healthcare automates most of the manual workflow processes and effectively tracks the status of those communications. By interfacing with Cerner® and CareCentric® MestaMed® billing and management systems, in use at HCC and AMI, respectively, Inscrybe Healthcare will also be able to further enhance productivity and reduce costs of transaction processing.

Referring physicians or their staff can log-in to a single unified web-based platform to place new patient care orders or review any of their existing patient care orders in one place. While online, the physician can also update, complete and electronically sign patient care orders from any provider who subscribes to Inscrybe Healthcare. If a physician prefers to communicate through fax, Inscrybe provides electronic fax functionality so the physician sends and receives faxes while the participating provider manages their process online through Inscrybe Healthcare.
