Holon: The Process Adaptive Interoperability Framework
Date:7/12/2010

ATLANTA, July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Holon, the new standard for healthcare interoperability, today announced general availability of its Medication Management solution.

Leveraging the Holon Process Adaptive Interoperability Framework, Holon introduces a cost-effective alternative to your paper processes or your current medication management solution by automating the collection and distribution of pharmacy information and orders, in any format – CPOE, scanned paper, fax, or email.

The Holon Medication Management Solution reduces the high costs associated with document-driven business processes, enhances and extends the value of your existing pharmacy management information systems and improves patient safety. Patient ADT information loads automatically into the system, saving time and eliminating keystroke errors.  To facilitate compliance with JCAHO's requirement for pharmacist review of all physician orders and to reduce lengthy telephone calls from nursing to the pharmacy, orders can be viewed and verified from any workstation assuring the "right medication to the right patient," prior to administration. An integrated, feature-rich document viewer virtually eliminates transcription errors.  A comprehensive audit trail is automatically created including clinician comments which do not modify the original order.

Holon's Web-based Medication Management Solution is flexible and can be easily adapted to meet your specific workflow requirements.  Holon helps you achieve 100% automation during your CPOE adoption period.  Orders in the central pharmacy appear in the pharmacy management system whether they are entered using your CPOE system or manually written and faxed or scanned to the pharmacy.  Orders can be automatically rerouted based on day, date, time, or on dema
