Hologic, Hospira, Boston Scientific, Allergan to Participate in Leading Medical Device Manufacturing Symposium
Date:3/31/2011

RAMSEY, N.J., March 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Top medical device manufacturers are supporting MPO Symposium Costa Rica, the leading medical device manufacturing conference series.

Hologic, Hospira, Boston Scientific, Allergan, Siemens, as well as the Costa Rican government are active participants in this don't-miss international event, taking place May 11-13 at the Marriott Costa Rica in San Jose. In addition to the impressive roster of topics and speakers scheduled, one of the unique—and most exciting—features of attending MPO Symposium Costa Rica is the opportunity to visit the local facilities of global medtech manufacturers. A select group of companies will open their doors for Symposium attendees to share their knowledge about the intricacies of doing business abroad and creating world-class manufacturing centers offshore.

The plant tours (space is limited, so please register early) are only one part of the conference experience, however. The conference kicks off on May 11 with one-to-one meetings arranged by the conference coordinators to pair suppliers and contract manufacturers with medical device firms. A welcome reception concludes the first day. The following day presents conference sessions covering topics such as the supplier quality evaluation process, modern Lean manufacturing techniques and managing global manufacturing relationships. The meeting culminates with a golf outing on the final day. The agenda is designed to allow conference-goers to learn, actively participate in discussions and make critical business contacts.

"MPO Symposium is the most unique event of its kind in the medical device space," said Howard Revitch, group publisher for the Medical Device Group at Rodman Publishing.  "This event presents a rare opportunity to learn firsthand from manufacturers, peers and top-notch speakers."
