NEW YORK, Dec. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Hello Health, Inc., a division of Myca Health, Inc. announced today that it plans to initiate a wireless health collaboration with Qualcomm Life Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated. Hello Health plans to integrate biometric data from wireless sensors onto the 2net™ Platform which then can be transferred to the company's Hello Health® patient management platform as part of a patient's electronic health record (EHR). Patients will use data from wireless sensors to report on progress towards goals they establish for themselves within the EHR. The company is demonstrating a prototype of their technology at the third annual mHealth Summit being held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Washington, D.C. on Dec 5-7 in the Qualcomm Life pavilion (#403).
"Wireless sensors that capture patient data are a wellspring of valuable patient data that belong in the patient's health record to be incorporated in patient health management," said Steven Ferguson, patient management officer at Myca Health. "With our planned integration on the 2net Platform, we will bring data such as physical activity, weight, sleep, medications, vitals and more from designated connected wireless devices and present this information for patients and physicians to monitor as part of their electronic health record and to access wherever they are connected to the web. We are excited about the possibility of collaborating with Qualcomm Life in this important advancement in health data connectivity."
Hello Health is a cloud-based platform for connecting patients and physicians together through an integrated electronic health record, an online patient portal and a suite of secure online communication tools for HIPAA-compliant messaging and web consultations. Sensor data will be part of Hello Health WellBox™, an integrated portal where patients set personal health challenges to which they can select and link data from wireless sensors. Widgets display data within the health record for patients to track their progress. Patients can share their progress and achievements with their physician, family and friends.
"Qualcomm Life's mission is to make wireless health simple for medical device and service companies and to ultimately have an impact on improving health care," said Rick Valencia, vice president and general manager of Qualcomm Life. "Hello Health's planned integration on the 2net Platform will demonstrate how wireless health can add significant value through both the capture and delivery of pertinent patient data."
