SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Healthcare Quality Catalyst Corp. (, the leader in healthcare data warehousing, today announced a series of important events since September 2011 to continue driving the company's substantial growth and industry leadership.

On September 23, 2011, Healthcare Quality Catalyst (HQC) announced the selection of Sequoia Capital as its investment partner. The funds from Sequoia Capital's investment in HQC will be used to accelerate HQC's aggressive growth strategy by making its clinical data warehouse more widely available and developing additional software to expand care improvement for health systems. Michael Dixon, Partner at Sequoia Capital, will join HQC's Board of Directors.

"HQC's data warehousing solutions allow clinicians to harness the right data in order to simultaneously improve care and reduce cost," said Dixon. "We're excited to participate in this much-needed positive transformation in US healthcare."

On October 3, 2011, Dr. David Burton was selected as Chief Executive Officer of HQC.  Dr. Burton brings more than three decades of clinical and leadership experience to his position at the helm of HQC. Dr. Burton will focus on building out the management team and expanding the product line.

"It is an honor for me to lead HQC during this critical era for US health systems," declared Dr. Burton. "The addition to the team of key board members and senior leaders together with dramatic expansion of HQC's product offerings, positions us to help healthcare systems make fundamental improvements in care and cost structure."
