FLORENCE, Ky. and MONTEREY, Calif., Feb.16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthWarehouse.com, Inc. (OTC: HEWA), a leading VIPPS*-accredited retail mail-order pharmacy, and MedLion, Inc., a pioneering direct primary care practice in Northern California, have partnered to provide under-insured and uninsured people in the Bay Area, Central Coast and Fresno with discount prescription medications delivered free to their homes.

Nearly seven million Californians lacked health insurance in 2010, more than any other state, according to a study released in December 2011 by the California Healthcare Foundation. Twenty-four percent of working, non-elderly (age 65 and younger) Californians had no health insurance, four percent higher than the national average. The study also showed nearly one in five Californians with annual family incomes between $50,000-$75,000 lacked insurance.
