HealthEd Taps Kelemen to Lead West Coast Expansion
Date:5/8/2012

CLARK, N.J. and SAN DIEGO, May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthEd announced seasoned biopharma executive Vicki Kelemen has joined as Senior Vice President and will lead the company's growing business on the West Coast. The appointment comes at a critical watershed for biopharma companies, which are realizing the benefits of putting patients at the center of their business strategies.

"I'm excited to join the HealthEd team to support clients with complex business challenges," Kelemen said. "Think about chronic disease states with multi-faceted continuums of care, where the interactions among patients, care partners, and healthcare professionals are critical. Or the art and science of creating successful REMS programs and managing products with boxed warnings. HealthEd has a unique perspective to help biopharma clients address the evolving needs of all their customers, with an emphasis on the patient's healthcare journey, health literacy principles, and the role of education in creating positive outcomes."

Kelemen has more than 20 years of healthcare marketing and communications experience. She brings to HealthEd a unique blend of expertise across multiple therapeutic areas and treatment modalities, including: injectable and oral oncolytics, infectious diseases, virology, inflammatory diseases, neurology, diabetes and others. Prior to joining HealthEd, Kelemen held executive positions at Somaxon Pharmaceuticals, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Maxim Pharmaceuticals, Agouron Pharmaceuticals (Pfizer), Dura Pharmaceuticals, Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, and The DAVICK Group (a healthcare agency), where she developed successful education and support strategies that fostered communication between healthcare professionals and their patients, improving adherence to treatment.

In addition to expanding the company's West Coast presence, Kelemen will lead teams servicing current HealthEd clients including Genentech, Amgen, and Amylin.

"We're so glad to welcome a professional as accomplished as Vicki Kelemen to our team," said Jill Balderson, Managing Director. "With rising healthcare costs changing how payers, physicians, and patients judge innovative treatments, biotechnology companies must evolve how they go to market and help their audiences take action. The time is right for a different vision of healthcare marketing that begins with the patient at the center. Vicki and the HealthEd teams are dedicated to this critical mission and our new West Coast presence will allow us to best serve our current and future clients."
