Health on the Agenda at Food ingredients Asia-China Trade Show
Date:2/25/2011

SHANGHAI, Feb. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The annual meeting of the Chinese food industry is approaching; Fi Asia-China, Hi Ni China will be held on 21-23 June, heavily focusing on the growing health market in China, and offering thousands of buyers and sellers a place to meet, network and discuss business developments in the country and beyond.

The Chinese market for food ingredients is still developing and China continues to enjoy a global reputation for being a low cost supplier. The appetite for health and natural products is fast growing in China; in 2010, the country has suppressed the US as the world's largest market for health products. In the first half of the year, import and export of health products in China recorded $1.6 billion, an increase of 24%.

In order to serve the country's growing demand for health products and offer overseas manufacturers new opportunities for growth in the Chinese market, 'Nutraceutical Products China' (NPC ) was launched in 2011.  NPC will run alongside Fi Asia-China Hi Ni China 2011 and is dedicated to finished health foods and supplements. This is a unique platform for the nutraceutical market and will bring together new technology and knowledge.

Together with CPhI China, the region's largest show for the pharmaceutical industry, the show provides a complete insight into the functional, nutraceuticals and the pharmaceutical industries. The shows together are expected to bring over 42,000 food professionals to Shanghai, offering the industry the opportunity to network, meet new business partners and be updated on the latest developments in the industry.

A line of seminars, conferences and innovation programmes during the show will highlight pressing issues, and will facilitate exchange of ideas and best practices. The International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) will hold a conference during the show, bringing the best minds in academia and industry to China, to share
