Health Revenue Assurance Associates Hires Valerie Rinkle as Vice President of Revenue Integrity Informatics

PLANTATION, Fla., Aug. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Health Revenue Assurance Associates (HRAA),  leading provider of revenue integrity services for healthcare organizations, is pleased to announce its recent hire of Valerie Rinkle, who will join the HRAA team as Vice President of Revenue Integrity Informatics.  With this role, Rinkle will oversee and manage HRAA's Revenue Integrity product solutions group to further assist in the strategic and tactical development of HRAA's Visualizer™ product suite.  Rinkle will also coordinate with other business units and interface with clients to develop service offerings that enhance and extend HRAA's value proposition.

"I am incredibly excited to be joining HRAA and to be able to work directly with Founder and CEO Andrea Clark and the whole HRAA team of highly experienced professionals.  I look forward to re-establishing relationships with colleagues in health systems across the country to bring news of our vast expertise and to assist them in the journey to ICD-10 and health reform" said Valerie Rinkle.

Rinkle comes to HRAA with over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry comprised of revenue cycle management including operations, chargemaster, coding and billing, technology, management, compliance, and education for healthcare systems, hospitals and physicians. This background will help Rinkle easily transition into her position with HRAA.

"We are excited to have Valerie be a part of our team of industry all stars.  Her knowledge, skills and experience add an entire new dimension to the solutions we provide for our clients" said Andrea Clark, HRAA Chairman, CEO and Founder.

Prior to joining HRAA, Rinkle was the Revenue Cycle Director for Asante Health System in Medford, Oregon, where she managed and directed the performance of centralized business offices, registration departments and medical records coding for inpatient and outpatient services for two acute care hospitals with approximately $500 million in net revenue.  Rinkle is also recognized as an expert regarding Medicare hospital-based clinics, APCs, Medicare coding and billing regulations, and AR and claims management system issues.

In 2008, Valerie's responsibilities expanded to include patient registration where her leadership improved registration accuracy and up front collections grew from 11.35% to 21.34% of patient revenue.  The results of her conception and implementation of combining business office functions with registration and revenue integrity reduced bad debt from 42% to 3.8%. "Thanks to these achievements, Asante has been better able to provide the high level of services and excellent clinical care our patients and our communities need", said Patrick Hocking, Asante's Vice President of Finance.

Rinkle is an author of numerous articles regarding APCs, compliance, and chargemaster for the Dennis Barry's Reimbursement Advisor, Health Care Biller, Journal of Health Care Compliance, Washington-Alaska Happening (HFMA), Pipeline Newsletter (Oregon HFMA), Lane County Medical Society, Los Angeles County Medical Association Physician Magazine, and New York: Human Services Press.  As an active speaker, Rinkle delivers formal education, presentations and seminars on various topics in the healthcare industry.  Rinkle is a member of Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and the Provider Roundtable representing health systems in direct communications with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
