HCB Health Wins Fluoxetine Launch Assignment From Edgemont Pharmaceuticals

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- HCB Health, one of the nation's top 25 independent healthcare communications agencies, has been selected by Edgemont Pharmaceuticals for the national launch of the company's newly approved Fluoxetine Tablets 60 mg, the first 60 mg generic version of Prozac®  marketed in the U.S.  Fluoxetine is one of the most widely prescribed products for treating major depression, with more than 23 million prescriptions written for the drug annually in the U.S.

The full-service assignment will include a wide scope of activities, including advertising, sales collateral, a website, media plan and digital strategy. Darren Fuller, account supervisor, and Mark Gillmore, creative director, will manage the account from the agency side, working directly with Doug Saltel, founder and CEO of Edgemont Pharmaceuticals.

Edgemont Pharmaceuticals, LLC, is a privately held, Austin-based company with a primary focus and expertise in the field of neuroscience. The company's new product is the only form of fluoxetine available in the U.S. in a single, 60 mg pill. As an added feature, each pill is scored for easy splitting, also offering a convenient 30 mg dosing option. Previously, patients requiring a 30 or 60 mg dose of fluoxetine had to take three pills to reach their prescribed dose.
