Date:11/8/2013

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Gateway Analytical will be showcasing our pharmaceutical investigations and testing services for pharmaceutical materials characterization, at booth #4213 during 2013 AAPS Annual Meeting & Exposition in San Antonio, Texas. The conference, hosted by the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), allows thousands of members of the pharmaceutical science community to gather for the purpose of exchanging knowledge, discussing the latest research and technologies being used and networking with peers as well as other professionals from the pharmaceutical industry.

At the conference, Gateway Analytical will highlight its 20 years of experience in advanced analytical testing services for a wide range of pharmaceutical drug product types. Representatives from Gateway Analytical will discuss the lab's analytical services offerings - specifically orally inhaled and nasal products, tablets, semi-solids, transdermal drug delivery, pharmaceutical investigations, glass delamination and defect analysis, as well as their consulting services.

"We are very excited to exhibit at the AAPS conference and showcase our expertise to a large group of pharmaceutical scientists," said David Exline, Senior Vice President at Gateway Analytical.  "Our aim is to convey that at the root of our laboratory environment lies a trusted quality system. We are well versed in cGMP and Quality by Design (QbD) processes and procedures to support foreign particulate matter identifications and other pharmaceutical investigation services. Our expertise can help to guide pharmaceutical customers through tough regulatory waters as they develop products."

Gateway Analytical is a full service FDA registered and inspected laboratory with specialized expertise in state-of-the-art techniques for chemically specific particle sizing and particulate contamination identification. The lab's accreditations include cGMP-compliant, ISO 9001:2008, 21 CFR parts 210 & 211, 21 CFR part 820, and ICH Q7.  By utilizing techniques such as optical and polarized light microscopy, Raman and FTIR spectroscopy, SEM/EDS and Raman, visible fluorescence and NIR chemical imaging, Gateway Analytical's scientists are able to offer unique forensic-based-testing methods to quickly address pharmaceutical issues such as identifying when and where foreign particulate matter enter a manufacturing process, pinpointing the root cause of product failures or investigating the source of product stains or discoloration.
