FutureNet Granted Certification for Cloud-based Ambulatory EHR
Date:1/5/2012

DIAMOND BAR, Calif., Jan. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- FutureNet's Ambulatory Electronic Health Record EHR has received the federal government's "meaningful use" stamp of approval by earning ONC-ATCB certification. The designation officially validates FutureNet's WebEHR 5.2 software capable of enabling ambulatory/outpatient providers to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Tested and certified under the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB) program, the EHR is 2011/2012 compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.  FutureNet is the first traditional transcription vendor to achieve such certification for a complete ambulatory/outpatient EHR platform.

"By adding a certified ambulatory EHR to compliment our recently certified inpatient EHR and long standing dictation/transcription applications, FutureNet is now positioned to deliver proven cloud-based technology to provider organizations of any size," noted Wayne Wu, Ph. D, FutureNet COO. "With the newly certified ambulatory EHR, we look forward to extending our long standing reputation for delivering flexible, easy to implement, and easy to use software as a service (SaaS) applications.  We are especially pleased to offer both inpatient and ambulatory EHR products for costs substantially lower than the ARRA funding incentives that they make possible for our clients."

Drummond Group's ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for ambulatory services. In turn, providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology -- a key component of the federal government's push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs.
