Fujitani Takes the Helm at FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A.

STAMFORD, Conn., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Naohiro Fujitani began leadership as President and CEO of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc., effective April 1, 2010.  Mr. Fujitani comes to the company with nearly 35 years experience with FUJIFILM Corporation.  He succeeds Hiroaki Tada who has retired after almost 40 years with Fujifilm, the last two of which were spent at FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A.

As President and CEO, Mr. Fujitani is charged with managing the growth and profitability of the company's imaging systems, medical informatics and women's health business segments.  As Fujifilm continues to diversify and strengthen its core digital x-ray portfolio while also extending its reach into new imaging and informatics areas, his past experience and management history will be invaluable to the expansion of the organization.

Mr. Fujitani is a knowledgeable and proven leader who has spearheaded many successful business initiatives.  Just prior to this appointment he served as the company's Senior Executive Vice President.  Before coming to the U.S. he was Senior Vice President of FUJIFILM Europe and General Manager of the Graphic Systems Division where he was responsible for the sales, marketing, manufacturing and day-to-day operations and profitability of the graphic businesses in the European, African and Middle Eastern markets.

His career with Fujifilm began at world headquarters in Tokyo.  For nearly three decades he held positions of increasing responsibility gaining experience in diverse functional areas in the Graphic Systems division such as sales, marketing, new product planning, system integration and lastly as Deputy General Manager.  During his tenure in this position Mr. Fujitani was tasked with and successfully grew the company's world wide software applications and digital printing business, and he led the evaluation and acquisition of several companies.

Mr. Fujitani received his bachelor's degree in the science of economics from Kwansei Gakuin University in Kobe, Japan.
