ForteBio Discusses How to Achieve Higher Throughput With Multiplexed Phage Display in Educational Webinar
Date:9/15/2018

Recent advances in phage display for molecular evolution incorporate deep sequencing to enable greater library coverage. However, severe gaps and limitations associated with next-generation sequencing (NGS) library construction and biophysical follow-up of potential hits remain.

Multiplexed phage display provides a simple, robust, and seamless high-throughput-ready version of phage display that can simultaneously screen and bioinformatically analyze up to 96 peptide phage libraries in parallel.

As a case study, raising peptide binders against the low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 6 (LRP6) using MPD generated more detailed results in a shorter time than standard phage display methods. To accommodate the large number of potential lead peptides from the screening, the ForteBio Octet system was used to characterize streptavidin peptide fusions generated by in vitro translation.

In this webinar, which is sponsored by ForteBio LLC, attendees will learn to use next-generation sequencing for phage display. They will also understand how to generate streptavidin peptide fusions quickly and inexpensively.

The speaker for this event will be Dr. Thomas Hengstl, a software product manager with Molecular Devices.

Hengstl is currently a product manager for software and compliance with Molecular Devices. Prior to joining the company, he received his doctorate in biophysics and biochemistry through a joint international, industrial program between the University of Natural Sciences Salzburg and Genentech Inc. The development of the multiplexed phage display workflow described in the webinar was a product of his doctorate program.

LabRoot will host the webinar September 27, 2018, beginning at 8 a.m. PDT. To learn more about this event, discover the continuing education credits available, or to register for free, click here.
