Former NBA Champion John Salley Partners With Watertree Health To Promote Free Prescription Discount Card
Date:4/24/2013

NEW YORK, April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Former NBA champion, television/film personality and health & wellness advocate John Salley has partnered with Watertree Health, a leading provider of free prescription discount cards, to help promote and distribute their card to anyone who needs help paying for their medicines.

Salley, a vegan and much sought after speaker on the benefits of living a healthier lifestyle, believes that a healthy diet is the best medicine.  However, he also recognizes that many people need traditional medicines to help maintain their well-being but are unable to pay for them. It is estimated that more than 100 million Americans don't have full prescription coverage. For this reason says Salley, "I am thrilled to partner with Watertree Health in order to make a difference, by helping people afford the medicines they sorely need."

For Salley, there are several benefits to promoting the free Watertree Health Prescription Discount Card – helping people get the medicines they need to stay healthy, and raising awareness and funds for The John Salley Foundation whose mission is to educate the community about the dangers of childhood obesity. According to the Center for Disease Control, childhood obesity now affects 17% of all children and adolescents in the United States – triple the rate from just one generation ago.

Watertree Health Co-Founder and CEO Matt Herfield says, "What makes this such an exciting partnership is the belief we both share, that people deserve the opportunity to live healthy lives."  It was the reason he started the company, to address the growing need for affordable health care products and services, and to help those who
