FDA Consumer Health Information - Stolen Inhalers Pose Risk

SILVER SPRING, Md., July 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The public should be on the lookout for stolen inhalers after some were found in a number of pharmacies. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says the safety and effectiveness of the stolen Advair Diskus inhalers cannot be assured, so consumers should not use them.

The inhalers—used in the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease—were stolen from a GlaxoSmithKline warehouse in August 2009.
